Hi, I am lookign at moving to Wippien from Hamachi and have a couple of questiosn to which I can't find answers on the FAQ or forums.

(1) I host with Dreamhost but do not have a static IP. I would like to be a mediation server so that my little VPN are not reliant on anyone else. Dreamhost include a Jabber Chat Server as part of their package. Does that mean that I can add a WIppien link server without having a static IP?

(2) Does a Wippien client machine need to have an active user logged in or can the client be effectively run as a service so that the "machiNE2 rather than "user" is accessible on the VPN?

hi. Let me try to help

1) I cannot promise it will work without static IP. You could use some 'no-dns' kind of hostname instead of IP when providing mediator details.. We do that actually.. It works. You should try!

2) I can't help with that, since this is sort of 3rd party solution, I guess you have to try it as well. If you run it as real service, then no user shouldn't have to be logged on.
