I play counter strike 1.6 on Wippien. I was successfuly playing CS with a few of my buddies yesterday. My brother too wanted to play, so he created his ID there and then from inside the Wippien app. But when he tried to connect and play with one of my friends, he got this error:
"LAN servers are restricted to local clients (class C)"
I reinstalled Wippien, dis/reenabled the network driver, but this problem just wont go away. Please help!

in console type "sv_lan 0"
you can enable the console in options, console is bound to the ~ key.

e.g. you have the ip 5.0.125.5

then your partner must have the ip 5.0.125.xxx

well... at the first place I have to apologizes for my bad english.
I had the same problem, restriction for local clients class C, but I fixed it.
I downloaded a CS and some more patches (I can send the site if u want).
lets begin...

go on the properties of dedicated serv and you will open a window(oh, really?). In this window type this in the destination "directory .... hlds.exe" -master -game cstrike +ip your ip from hamachi.
I'll give you an example, for me, the location of dedicated serv is here "D: My Documents Games Files Valve hlds.exe"
say your hamachi ip is 5.43.185.93, then add this -> " -master -game cstrike + ip 5.43.185.93"

[There is a space before -master and -game]
create servers using dedicated server.
ur serv will have your hamachi's ip.
It worked for the old engine (cs 1.6, HL1, sven [pretty cool =D] ...) but when I tried to do this with the source engine (hl2, l4d2, team fortress 2) I have not had success. if anyone knows anything or where I can find a non-steam dedicated server, please say me.

observation: I'm here because I can't play online or create servers using a non-steam l4d2 with my friends, if anyone knows how, please tell me. =D

Class C lan requires that both the client and or host have the same beginning IP allocations for the beginning of the address

192.168.1.xxx (client)
192.168.1.xxx (host)

would solve the issue to solve this issue over wippien simply check to use your own IP address for the adapter in network settings and assign the same beginning areas

Once done, Reset wippien and the adapter (or reboot) go ingame, and type SV_LAN 1 (in the main menu) to make sure none without a class C can join you and host with the settings you would like once ingame, have your friend open the console and type "connect *your address*"

Make sure your firewall is accepting ports that the source engine uses or he will probably not connect
