Hi I have added kreso, to check if I can get it setup correctly. I wanted to have gtalk and yahoo accounts but could not locate any option. Please advice how to go about it. Also, my network shows 5XXXXXXXXXXXXXX ip address now. Is there some kind of tute somewhere  TIA |

Hi.
this all depends on jabber server you use - not all support all gateways. Before you can use ICQ/MSN/.. you must press green plus button, 'add new account', and register your UIN with ICQ/MSN/...
After that go again to green plus and select 'add new contact' and just add contacts.
For gmail, you can go directly to step 2.

My IP says 0.0.0.0 I press the green plus sign, it opens the expected window, but there is no accounts to add. There is a blank sub-window and a button that says "Add new account", but when pressed it only shows one more button "Show only gateways". Is this an error. I logged with my Gmail account. Thanks. |

Hi.
GMAIL server doesn't allow any other IM protocols to be used. Try to login with new wippien account, or some other real jabber server.
BTW 0.0.0.0 should change to something else, to 5.x.x.x

I logged into Wippien using my jabber account. My 0.0.0.0 is "Obtained from IP provider database, on URL http://wippien.com/ip/?jid=". Below that is a radio button for the option to "Use following static address IP address 5.0.176.83 with Netmask 255.0.0.0". On Wippien "About" I see the following information: ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ::: Wippien 2.2.9.392 | wodAppUpdate 1.4.5.138 ::: wodXMPP 1.3.4.154 | wodVPN 2.1.5.107 ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: I just want to click on the green to add people I want to IM or Chat. Ok, but before you add ICQ contacts, you must tell Wippien what is your ICQ number so it can register you on ICQ network?
Green plus icon, 'add new account', choose ICQ, add yourself.
Then you can add contacts.

After that go again to green plus and select 'add new contact' and just add contacts. Just like other cases from previous postings, I clicked on the green plus icon, and then the 'add new account', but there's no ICQ to choose from. Therefore I can not "add myself". |

As mentioned previously in this thread, not all servers have gateways. "jabber.org" seems not to have one. There's nothing I can do about it, really. You should pick different jabber server to have account there.

Great advice! Now can you please suggest a specific jabber server to save me the agony of the trial and error for choosing one that has "gateways"? Thanks. |
