Interface transparency 14-03-2008 12:08
While you are at auto-hiding capabilities for Wippien, I would appreciate a transparency setting for the whole interface in the Appearance details. It would make wippien a little bit more discreet on the desktop. smile.gif

You mean to be half-visible (to add alpha blending)? Ugh.. Uff. I can't promise that.. That depends a lot on Skin library which I don't have quality one.

Yes, it's what I meant.
Well, forget about this if it costs you more than half an hour of work, it's not worth it. Especially if the autohide feature works well (and it already works well with silverhawk's script, btw).

True.. I've add autohide too (settings->system) but doesn't work very well in online version. I've fixed it to work nicely but that one isn't updated yet. His idea was excellent (and impementation too)

here is a launcher you might want to use,
[edit version 3] http://www.mediafire.com/?ijld2myfzzj

1) just extract it into your wippien prog folder (c:\program files\wippien\)
2) edit the wippien_enhancements.ini file in notepad
3) double click the wippien_loader.reg file to add replace wippien with this in windows startup
5) double click on wippien_loader.exe

includes a hotkey to bring wippien back from hiding; ctrl+` (` is above the tab button)
bugs: chat windows are not affected yet, i can get a solid (reliable) handle on them

Thanks for the sharing, it works great ! Hm, except for Wippien's interface disappearing after I reduce it and open it up again. How many people in your QA team ? happy.gif

PS : I also liked the way my explorer window became transparent when I launched wippien_loader (the window was entitled "Wippien", that's why). happy.gif I don't remember how AutoHotkey works, but you might be able to find a window using its class name. This app may help to find the latter : http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/winlister.html

thats wierd, i changed that right after i uploaded the first file and then uploaded the fixed one. mediafire must have some kind of cache on files with the same filename, here is the fixed one. now its off of the pid

my only answer must be that you didnt copy the ini file into the wippien folder along with the exe.

No, this is not the issue. Now Wippien crashes a few tens of seconds after launching. I bet all of this will be solved with a full windows reboot.

XP Pro.
The transparency works well, actually. It is only after I've reduced Wippien to the tray, then re-displayed it, that the interface becomes black and I have to pass my mouse over it to make it - partially - show up again.
