Ping problem 11-01-2008 22:37
Hello,
I have a problem using wippien. Sending ping at my friends ip address ends only with timeout's. From the other side, pings sent at my ip work fine. Firewalls on both sides are disabled. Connection is ok (we can chat, ip addresses are black).
I have tried to find solution on this forum but i failed :( . The Question is what can i do?

It is his firewall, I'm sure about it. He must disable it in control panel and on network adapter.

I thought the same. But my friend told me that he really didn't have active firewall (system and third party). His is even unable to turn on system firewall because his windows lacks some esential components(files?) to activate firewall service.
So my conclusion is that maybe his internet service provider is blocking some ports/protocols.
My next question is. Is there any way to go around this problem?

Ps. Thanks for your help :)

Currently no. We use UDP packets and we don't have a workaround. Maybe in some future we'll support TCP and put it on some well known port which could solve his problem, but not now.
