Hello, Have come across an interesting issue here: I can establish a VPN with my friend (get an IP address, it goes black), but I cannot ping them. The interesting thing here is that the internet IP address that is showing up in wippien is NOT my friend's internet IP address (i.e. the IP address given when you highlight over their nickname). So this is the reason we can't ping each other - we seem to have established some kind of false? tunnel between us. We can definately chat via wippien however, so any ideas on how to fix this?

Perhaps you or him set up your own IP address instead of what mediator assigned to you? In settings/Mediator, is 'use mediator to get local ip address' selected? What is set in settings/Network/ip address for wippien network adapter? Kreso

Thanks for the quick reply - we're setting our own IP addresses because of the conflict with the hamachi range, BUT, we also used the mediator set IP addresses initially to test. It was still a problem regardless. Settings/Network/IP Address reflects the wippien options (in this case we've chosen 6.x.x.x.

Yep, completely uninstalled hamachi on the 5.x.x.x range as a test too.

If this problem isn't fixed, can you send me email to kreso-at-wippien-dot-com and I'll check it out. I will need both JIDs too. Kreso

Hello! First of all, this is a great program. Really. We've tried to make VPN with some friends but neither hamachi nor openvpn really pleased us. Then we found Wippien But... Yes, we've got a problem Just the same as Astrial in fact. We can connect to our server (Openfire), we obtain an IP from your mediator, but we can't ping each other via the VPN. Every needed port is open in our firewall, the communication between servers is enabled. In fact i don't see Do you have any idea?

Yes the IP goes to black on both sides. EDIT: sorry, in fact it stays blue and keeps blinking at regular time laps.

In that case connection is established. Ping doesn't go through for several reasons. 1. Check firewall. It usually drops ping packets 2. Do you have Hamachi installed, or anything else on same 5.x.x.x subnet? Kreso
