I'm looking to create an IM network just for my site users.

You can provide hosting? Perhaps you can host LINK mediator.. It's really low on CPU and small footprint. It doesn't use too much of a bandwidth, but does use some. It's used only to accept packets on port 8000 and redirect to remote peer.

I hosted it on small VPN (www.buyavps.com) but their service suffers real problems since they just closed my VPS today (even I paid for rest of the month) and their client area doesn't accept my username anymore either - just all of a sudden So I'm in search for new LINK mediator hosting.
