PGP/GPG Support 21-08-2006 14:42
I think support for GPG or any PGP compatible system is a MUST for any modern communication tool (like PSI)
i already noticed the RSA keys, but i presume those are only for the VPN, not for jabber, even if they are, it's still good to be able to select your own GPG key.

any thoughts?

I am not 100% certain at this point, but we may remove RSA generation completely, we may just use them 'under the hood'. If that happens, PGP/GPG will also become obsolete.

why would it become obsolete, when rsa encryption is used 'under the hood' you get problems with other jabber clients, my advice, stick to the JEP's
when any encryption (like RSA) is used, thats all, where's the signing? still can't verify who i'm having a conversation with. Also who tells me that is secure?

Regards.

I don't think we're on the same track here. I'm not talking about SSL level between jabber client and the server, nor any kind of direct transfers between Wippien and *other* jabber client. I'm only talking about VPN connections between 2 Wippiens which is a proprietary protocol. RSA would be used anyway but key wouldn't be that important.

If you disagree, please explain more what's on your mind.

Thanks,
Kreso
